The Sunshine State’s 2012 season of Major League Baseball spring training is up in full gear as professional athletes are cranking out their bats and removing dust from their gloves. For more than a century, Florida has been the location of the Grapefruit League, the premiere spring home of MLB franchises such as the Red Sox, Rays, Phillies, Cardinals, and Yankees, who play at Tampa’s own George Steinbrenner Field.
The unmatched climate and beautiful natural surroundings have been a perfect location for teams to prepare for the regular season. Visitors from all around the country travel to Florida to enjoy America’s favorite national pastime. Tickets on the berm, the green grass sitting area in the outfield, start as low as $9.00 in some parks. Attending spring training games as close as Dale Mabry and Clearwater is a fun and inexpensive way to make the weekend enjoyable. See you at the ball park!
