Cross Country takes third place at Seffner Christian Invite

Academy runners have been hard at work training for a race almost every weekend. Once again, their endless hours of training paid off during the Seffner Christian Invite at the Sydney Dover Trails last Saturday, September 29.

The Academy team came into the race prepared for a difficult course. Unlike the Jesuit and Al Lopez Courses, Sydney Dover was almost completely in the woods and had several steep inclines and declines, making the team grateful that they had been dong several ‘hill workouts’ beforehand.

Lined up at the start line,  the girls varsity were the first to race, followed by boys varsity, girls junior varsity and finally, boys junior varsity. The Holy Names team, motivated by cheers from their families and friends, ran their hardest in attempts to drop their personal record times. Although, no one was able to, the team placed third place overall right behind King and… In addition, incredible runner Claire Snyder, placed first individually.
