Best and Worst Fashions at the Grammy Awards

It’s sheer madness! This year’s 2012 Grammy Awards fashions fell to two extremes: bold or classy. The flamboyant fashions expected by celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and Fergie were all up to par, while the night’s big winner, Adele, and Rihanna kept it simpler with new blonde locks and black silhouette dresses.

There was, as usual, a lot of black on the Grammy red carpet but gold and shimmery fabrics were a bright trend. Classy and fabulous, country singer Carrie Underwood, wore a long-sleeve, white, backless gown with embroidered sequins by Gomez-Garcia. Adele not only won big in Grammys, but also in fashion. Her slimming black-sequin gown by Armani complimented her curvy physique.

However, other stars missed the mark entirely. Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas wore a lacy tangerine gown over a black bra and briefs–basically nothing. Nicki Minaj donned more of a costume than a gown to the awards ceremony. She paired a scarlet Versace dress with a Red-Riding Hood-type hooded cape and a black beaded design down the front that evoked thoughts of sacrilege.

The hit-or-miss outfits from the Grammys seem almost predictable as the award show itself, and to some, even more interesting than the musical aspect of the show.
