How to create the perfect ‘Smokey Eye’

How to create the perfect 'Smokey Eye'

For that great evening look of allure and intrigue, nothing beats the “Smokey Eye.”  Practice a few days ahead of the big event to make sure you have the following technique down to a T.

Plan now and stock up on the products you will need:

  • Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Smooth Hold Daylight Item # 887042.
  • “Catherine n°06” Sephora Collection shadow.
  • Sephora “must have n°06” shadow.
  • Covergirl “Lash Blast” mascara.

 Step 1

First, using an “all-over shadow brush,” cover the eye with a light, almost skin tone, shadow. Apply the shadow all across the lid to the eyebrow. I suggest using the Sephora Collection Pro Natural All Over Shadow Brush #12. My favorite shadow is the Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Smooth Hold Daylight Item # 887042.

Step 2

Apply grey in the crease, blend and extend color outward toward the brow. A light grey color is the best choice. I suggest the “Catherine n°06” Sephora Collection shadow. Also I suggest using the Sephora Pro Natural Crease Brush #10.

Step 3

Using the crease brush again, apply a darker color to the lower lid and around the outer corner of the eye. Make sure you blend well. I suggest using the Sephora “must have n°06” shadow.

Step 4

Line upper and lower lashline with black, Sephora Collection “must have n°06”. Blend shadow from the upper lashline into crease. My favorite brush to use is an angled brush. I suggest the Sephora Collection Classic Angled Liner/Eyeliner Brush #15.

Step 5

The final step is to highlight the eye with an ivory shadow. Using your “all-over shadow brush,” apply shadow under the brow and on the inner corner of the eyes.

Once you have finished applying each of these shadows, choose your favorite mascara and apply desired amount. Finish off your look with a cute outfit and you are ready for a night out!
