Four missionary groups begin spiritual preparation for trips

With the dates of their departures fast approaching, Academy student missionaries are busy preparing for their trips, collecting shoes and other supplies for their mission locations.  In addition, on February 14, the missionaries attended the first of three Spiritual Preparations. Gathering in the Chapel, students from each of the four missions – Ruskin, Mississippi, Appalachia, and the Dominican Republic – prayed together led by Sister Ann Regan.

Sophomore Gini Barreda expressed her thoughts on the service, “I thought Sister Anne’s address was very inspiring, and I now know more of what to expect for my Ruskin Mission Trip.”

Sister Anne’s main topics provided information on coping with frustrations, staying balanced, safeguarding good health and safe travel, and showing love and kindness on every mission trip. Joining together in reading from the scriptures, the four  mission trip groups all bonded with one another and with God in preparation for their trips.   Inspired by the time together, the girls left renewed for their single purpose of preparing for their trips.  The next two Spiritual Preparations are on  February 28 and March 6.
