At the Academy of the Holy Names, students are excited as Thanksgiving break gets closer. The halls are filled with girls looking forward to spending time with family and friends and finishing up their school work.

Before break, the girls take time to show their gratitude in many ways. Some classes have collected canned foods and supplies for families in need. The school also holds prayer services where students can reflect on what they are thankful for and share their blessings with others.

Ali Ibanez (26’) said, “I am forever grateful for my family and friends. I love doing fun activities like going to concerts with my friends and trying new restaurants with my family. I pray to God every night thanking him for what he has given me and I couldn’t be more grateful for the life I live.”

Many girls say they are thankful for their friends, teachers, and the chance to learn in a caring community. The spirit of kindness and giving fills the school as everyone prepares for the holiday.

Annabelle Bennett (26’) said, “I am forever grateful for everything that God has blessed me with including family, friends, food, and everything in between. During this time of Thanksgiving, I try to show even more gratitude and appreciation towards everything and everyone.”

Even though everyone is ready for some time off, the spirit of thankfulness remains strong throughout the school. The academy of the Holy Names continues to encourage kindness, reflection, and generosity, reminding students that gratitude is something to carry not just during Thanksgiving, but throughout the entire year.

Thanksgiving at the Academy of the Holy Names is not just about taking a break, it’s about coming together to appreciate all the good things in life and to share that joy with others. With full hearts and hopeful spirits, the girls head into the holiday ready to celebrate all the blessings in their lives.

Sara-Beth Grande (26′) said, “I am so beyond thankful for the school I attend. Very fortunate ti be able to wake up every morning and come to school here at The Academy.”
