Academy of the Holy Names is filled with girls of all different backgrounds, talents, and excellence. Family and friends are always held close to the heart. Something special that some girls have in common is that they are aunts to their siblings’ children.
The blessing of life is beautiful especially if you are closely related to them. Developing a relationship with younger children and learning to love at a young age is very important. Being able to have the title as an aunt is a gift.

Personally, my experience of being considered an aunt is one of the most amazing things to me. To know that I have known this baby from being just a thought to watching them grow up is something that sticks with me. I love spending every moment with my nephews, they bring me so much joy every time I see them.
Ameerah Kazbour (26’) said, “Being an aunt brings a kind of joy I didn’t know I needed. Getting to witness their growth and all the little milestones makes my heart so full. It all makes me realize how meaningful it is to be an aunt.”

Joy is a common word when aunts are talking about their nieces and nephews. Being able to truly connect with them on a personal level and develop a new form of care and love is an amazing experience. As having the title of “aunt” you are to guide and provide a safe place for these children that look up to you.
Allie Herrero (26’) said, “I have two nephews and one niece and they are the best! They are like built-in best friends and think you are the coolest person alive. I love being an aunt because my older sister always took care of me, and now I get to do the same with her kids.”
Being an aunt is important because Academy girts get to learn how help others rather while holding an important role. This role gives an opportunity to be an adult in the child’s life that they can go to at any moment and trust, know that figure will be there to listen and encourage them. This bond and connection is one that will grow more and more over time and leave an indelible mark on the future generations.
