Drake and Rihanna meet in the most unusual of ways: he played background music at the Toronto restaurant where she was shooting her ‘Pon de Replay’ music video.


The two reconnect at a bowling alley and are supposedly seen kissing. Drake seemingly references this first date in his iconic 2016 MTV Video Music Awards speech, proclaiming, “She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old”.


2010 marks the pair’s first collab. Although they only collaborated for one song, “What’s My Name?”, their undeniable chemistry sparked the rumor mill.


Take Care”, a Drake and Rihanna collab, is released. Lyrics such as “Dealing with a heart that I didn’t break/I’ll be there for you, I’ll take care of you” caused people to speculate whether it is referencing Riri’s recent abusive relationship with Chris Brown.




Rihanna and Drake are seen hanging out, sparking rumors that they may be reuniting. Their outing was shortly after Rihanna and Chris Brown ended things for good after trying to work out their issues surrounding his abusive nature.
