Coachella Valley Music Festival impresses in 2024

For over two decades, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been a staple in the world of music, art, and culture. From its beginnings in 1999 to its global phenomenon today, Coachella has evolved into more than just a music festival, as it’s now an event for fans worldwide.

Created by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen of Goldenvoice Productions, Coachella was originally a two-day event featuring multiple genres of music in the desert of Indio, California. The festival in 1999 boasted headliners such as Beck, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine, drawing in around 25,000 attendees.

Over the years, Coachella has grown in size and influence, expanding to three days and then to two weekends to accommodate the increasing demand for tickets. Its lineup has iconic performances from artists spanning rock, indie, hip-hop, electronic, and more, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier music festivals in the world.

Headlining this year’s festival are some of the biggest names in the industry, including:

Tyler, The Creator: First performing at Coachella in 2011, he returns with two special guests during his set
