The 2024 season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” (SYTYCD) has been a thrilling and unforgettable experience for both dancers and viewers so far. The popular dance competition show, which has been on the air for over a decade, continues to captivate audiences with its talented contestants and mesmerizing performances. In the end, only one will win the $100,000 grand prize.
The 2024 season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” featured a diverse range of dance styles, from contemporary and hip hop, to ballroom and jazz. The contestants were some of the most talented dancers in the country, all competing for the chance to be crowned America’s favorite dancer.
Host Cat Deeley returns to “SYTYCD” for the latest edition of the competition, which features a revamped format. The judging panel includes new addition Maksim Chmerkovskiy, along with returning judges Allison Holker and JoJo Siwa. Comfort Fedoke, a series All-Star, will also be involved in evaluating the talent during this year’s auditions.
In episode 5 of the competition, they finally have their top 10 finalists: Olivia, Madison, Braylon, Anthony, Avery, Mariyah, Easton, Roman, Jaylin, and Dakayla. The top 10 finalists move into their new digs and find out their first challenge: music videos. Working with industry legends Luther Brown, Phillip, and Makenzie Chbeeb, the finalists are divided into two groups, with one group doing contemporary and the other hip-hop. On the day of the shoot, the judges observe everything from the dancers’ professionalism to their group dynamic and star quality. Following the shoot, the judges pick six safe dancers, leaving the bottom four to dance in order to make the cut. The completed music videos reveal standout performances from Jaylin and Dakayla, while Avery struggles with inconsistency.
