The holiday season is finally here. As Academy students slowly start getting ready for Christmas, break they all start talking about their traditions and the fun activities that they have planned for time off of school.
Many students are also looking forward to spending extra time relaxing at home. After a busy semester, they enjoy sleeping in, watching holiday movies, and spending time with friends they don’t get to see during the school year. The break gives everyone a chance to slow down and recharge.
Katelyn Papy (27’) said, “Before my Christmas break I like to make sure that all my school work is done so that way I can go into break with no stress. During my break my family likes to go ice skating and drive around neighborhoods to see everyone’s Christmas lights.
Girls have been preparing their houses with bright lights, decorating christmas trees, wrapping presents for loved ones, and baking Christmas treats.
Bridget Swenson (28’) said, “I love putting the Christmas tree up with my mom and dad. We always try to put up a new color of ornaments, so this year we did green and gold.”
Many fun traditions Academy families celebrate like: traveling, dinners, faith related activities, and more.
Rory Martin (26’) said, “Every Christmas Eve my family and I go to Charley’s Steak House and we always get the same table. We also decorate the Christmas tree together. This year we are going to Germany for 10 days and I’m so excited. Last year we went out the country too.”

Others are excited for the cool weather and the chance to enjoy outdoor activities. Some students plan to hang out with their families, sit by the fire with hot chocolate, or even take short trips to places. These small moments help make the holiday season feel even more special.
As Christmas gets closer, the excitement continues to grow throughout the Academy. Students are sharing their plans to their friends, looking forward to their traditions, and enjoying the cheerful air. No matter how they celebrate, everyone is ready to make the most of their break and create memories with the people they love while celebrating Jesus.
