Curly Hair Struggles and Solutions

Curly hair can be the ultimate gift and burden. The struggles we, curly-headed gals, face sometimes make us consider giving up our natural curls all together and ultimately getting a keratin treatment to end up with a transformation like Mia Thermopolis. But other times, it seems like there isn’t a better feeling than rocking that beautiful mane. Whether it’s dreading getting out of bed to see what the curl gods have brought you today or having that regimen down, all curly girls can relate to these struggles and hopefully learn a little more about taming those springy strands.

Now before we begin our Mia Thermopolis transformation, let’s remember that there are ways we can tame those manes. After all, curly hair is truly a blessing. When we get it just right, its absolutely fabulous, and that’s why our straight hair friends have to use expensive treatments to look like ours! Below are some of the most beneficial tips for your curly locks.

    1. Sleep with a silk Pillow: so much kinder to your curls
    2. Use the WetBrush: detangles much faster than a regular brush
    3. Dry your hair with a t-shirt compared to a towel: does wonders to fight fizz
    4. Properly identify the type of curls you have to get the best products that work for you.
    5. Try Deva Curl Products and Pro-Tips:

  1. If Deva Curl is outside your budget (around $40, but one bottle lasts for several months), Garnier has a great Curly, Frizz-free line.
  2. If all else, use a Diffuser for those days your hair MUST look luscious with lots of volume.
