Jackie Mendoza to present invocation at Women’s History Celebration

Living out the motto “Esse Quam Videri,” Academy girls make an impact not only on their school community but on the Tampa Bay community as well. Sophomore Jackie Mendoza has been asked to present the invocation at the 16th Annual Women’s History Month Celebration. The main speaker is Elizabeth Dearborn Davis, the Co-Founder and CEO of the Akilah Institute for Women.

The program includes the presentation of the Josephine Howard Stafford Memorial Award. Ms. Stafford devoted 24 years to the Tampa Bay area as an Assistant City Attorney and was also the first woman judge in Hillsborough County. She was a pioneer of women’s issues, in both her professional life and in the community. This award is presented to a woman in the City of Tampa who is a current or former employee of the city and demonstrates extraordinary commitment to her position and the community.
