Claire Acosta, Senior Staff Writer
Claire Acosta is a senior staff writer at the Academy of the Holy Names and a first-year journalist with Achona. This is her fourth year on the AHN rowing team, and she will get the opportunity to be a coxswain this year. She is also a member of the AHN Wellness Club and works to advocate for women’s mental, physical, and emotional health. Her favorite subject in school is English, and she is taking AP Lit this year. She wants to attend the University of Florida or Florida State University for college. Claire has a strong passion for making education and guidance in mental health available for people in and out of her community. She aims to minor in psychology and become a lawyer when she is older. Her favorite teacher at Academy is Dr. Dobrin, and this will be her third year with her taking a science class. She recently got her first dog, Auggie, an adorable Australian labradoodle puppy. Claire also has a younger brother who is a freshman at Jesuit named Joseph. Her dream place to travel is Greece, hoping to live out her favorite movie, Mamma Mia.
