Prior to the gallery viewing, Advanced Placement art students gave presentations detailing their theme for their portfolios, including Madeline Rodriguez (21) whose art is featured above.

All of the art featured were accompanied by an artist statement explaining the meaning of the piece. Crista Guevara (23) said, My piece, Dust in the Wind, had the most meaning to it. It was dedicated to my mom and was very symbolic to me.

Other AP students, such as Emmie Valdez (21), included elements beyond their artwork to create their display.

3D art was also featured in the gallery, such as the sculptures done by the Art 3D III Honors class.

AP Art students were able to choose different mediums to represent their themes, such as Alison Perez (21), who used photography and photo editing.

Art was featured from every art course offered at Academy, ranging from Advanced Placement and higher level courses to the introductory Art I, featured in this photo.

The gallery featured a range of artworks from more traditional styles, such as painting, to more modern techniques including digital photography and editing. Brynn Wilary (23) said, I really liked taking the Digital Design class and learning how to use tools such as Photoshop.

Art work was grouped together by class, including the tables dedicated to the Ceramics class shown here.

Even the quirkiest of art work had a deeper meaning to it, such Lainie Cuvas (23) sculpture of hot chocolate that represented her personality.

The art ranged from serious to quirky, such as the giant sized sculptures of food made by the Art II Sculpture class.

The 3D art also ranged in mediums, ranging from clay to wire sculptures.

A sign welcomed visitors featuring art work by Emory Peterson (22). The sign also explained the social distancing regulations put in place to run a COVID-19 safe event.
