Mykhia Pursley, Senior Staff Writer
Mykhia Pursley is a senior, first-year staff writer at Academy. When she is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family. She recently started watching “Never Have I Ever” on Netflix and so far is very interested in it. When she is not watching TV or with family, Mykhia likes to read and listen to music. When she has free time she loves to go thrifting at Goodwill. Tampa has great food and drink restaurants but some of her favorites include Tropical Smoothie Cafe where she enjoys a Blimey Limey smoothie and Boil Spot where she can create her own bowl. While in school, Mykhia enjoys math as a subject and is currently in Statistics. Later this year, she is excited to get her license so that she can drive her Mini Coop named Bradley. One of her favorite hobbies is traveling by car which makes her license all the more anticipated. Other hobbies include music, knitting, and cooking with her mom. Last year, Mykhia shaved her head which she looks back on now and has no regrets and likes that she can say she did it. Her future is bright with aspirations of becoming a journalist to then retire and become a farmer. In college, she plans on majoring in Political Science and getting an immediate internship in radio or broadcasting. Lastly, she explains that her social skills are more quiet and reserved so she can seem distant or like she’s not paying attention but she is just observant and may not know what to say.
