Gretchen Swenson, Senior Staff Writer
Gretchen Swenson is an Academy senior, and first year staff writer. Swenson is very passionate about spending time with family and friends and also doing charity work in which she participates in charity events for St. Jude’s Children Hospital. She has participated on varsity cross country, soccer, and track teams freshman through sophomore year leading up to a serious sports injury that left her with a broken leg. After recovering, Swenson decided to “change things up” and tryout for cheerleading in which she is now entering her second year as Varsity Co-Captain for the Jesuit High School. She believes that cheerleading is very time. consuming, but she enjoys the responsibility of being a co-captain. An interesting fact about Swenson is that she used to compete in Irish dancing in fifth grade. Swenson is looking forward to graduating high school, but she hasn’t decided where she will make her home for college, but is interested in Ole Miss located in Oxford, Mississippi. She would like to be a bio major on the pre med track in hopes to become a surgeon. Swenson adds she would love to see an episode of SNL in person. If Swenson could only bring three things to a deserted island, she would bring her phone, senior Feraby Hoffman, and a soccer ball. In her free time, Swenson will scroll through Buzzfeed, Facebook, and PowerSchool Learning.
