Gracie Wipfli, Senior Staff Writer
Gracie Wipfli is an Academy Senior Staff writer as well as a first-year journalist for Achona. At AHN, Gracie is captain of the dance team and started the Gender Equality club. After landing the lead in last year’s play Footloose, she hopes to participate in this year’s too. Last year sparked her interest in the world of acting and she hopes to pursue film acting at PACE. She looks forward to applying to college as it is the start of her adult life. As a senior, Gracie hopes her class will become more aware of each person’s feelings and become more empathetic towards them. In her free time Gracie loves running, especially since she got new running shoes, and plans on joining her aunt in the Disney half marathon. Attending shows at the Straz Center and traveling are also among her favorite things to do. What many might not know is that she chooses to wear her socks inside out every day for comfort, as the seams hurt her feet. Although she hasn’t been playing for long, Gracie loves playing piano and taught herself with a friend on her Appalachia mission trip on an old piano. During summer, she participated in another mission trip to Costa Rica and stayed in an abandoned cheese factory “which was really scary.”
