Samantha Cano, Multimedia/Social Media Editor
Samantha Cano is the Multimedia/Social Media Editor for the Achona, a second year journalist, and a Senior at AHN. Samantha is extremely involved in extracurriculars in and out of school; she is an Ambassador, a Jaguarette, a member of SADD and Respect for Life clubs, a member of the Dance, Beta, and English National Honor Societies, and she dances at BSDA. She has been dancing since the age of two, and believes it is part of the reason her time management skills are on point. She also attributes her diverse music taste to how much time she has spent dancing to different genres of music. Her favorite class is AP Literature and Composition, because it not only involves reading and writing, which are two of Samantha’s favorite things, but it also focuses on analyzing and connecting real life situations. Samantha is most excited about cherishing all of her “lasts” at the Academy, and being able to feel how much of an impact AHN and her 115 sisters have had on her life. When she isn’t on the dance floor or at the gym, you could probably find Sam drinking a cup of coffee, watching So Sharp on Lifetime, scrolling through Pinterest while cuddling with her Beagle puppy, Oliver, shopping at Nordstrom, or at Disney World and Universal with her family. Sam is extremely passionate about animal rights, and hopes to attend the University of Florida or the University of South Florida to pursue a career in law and fight for justice for animal testing and abuse. Sam considers herself to be “a bit of a mom” for her dance team and friend group because she always has a Longchamp or her Buick stocked full of whatever someone may need, whether it be an emergency sewing kit, or Neosporin.
